INTERNATIONAL OUTREACH
VIENNA SURGE
is the European office that oversees the international projects of Surge International. Projects in and around Vienna include: organizing youth soccer tournaments and camps; Bible Studies at local coffee shops; sharing Christ with university students; helping the homeless; working with refugees, visiting elementary schools; partnering with Calvary Chapel (http://www.calvarywien.at/) and CIG Churches (
http://www.cigwien.at/
). Short term mission trips are ongoing to surrounding European countries and into Africa. An annual Easter Week trip to Kosovo takes place and staff regularly join CIG for mission trips to Liberia.

PROJECTS
GLOBAL PLAYER INITIATIVE (GPI)
The purpose of the GPI is for training, equipping and sending Christian soccer players to Vienna, Austria to use the platform of soccer to impact the world. There are two options players can choose from. Click on following link for more information
SOSsoccer
Refers to our work with children around the world. The goal is to partner with churches, schools, teams and organizations to get soccer gear to children that do not have the basic equipment or work with schools to help motivate students through the game of soccer. Some projects are used to help victims of trauma caused by war and poverty. Surge Internatonal staff partner with local churches for these projects in their area.
SOCCER CAMPS
Surge International holds youth soccer camps throughout the year. Currently, we are focusing on variety of soccer camps in and around Vienna, Austria and in Stuttgart, Germany where we are partnering with the Stuttgart Volksmission (church) to raise money for Anstoss zur Hoffnung (Kick-off to Hope) for their project in Mozambique.
ORPHANAGE OUTREACH
RANCHO SAN JUAN BOSCO BOY'S ORPHANAGE :: TECATE, MEXICO
Surge Int'l. began visiting the boys orphange in Tecate in 1995. Over thirty trips have been made (and counting) to help not only the boy's orphanage but other orpahanages in Tecate as well. These trips and the Surge's involvement in Tecate has been a catalyst for USA based church groups to also assist the orphanages in Tecate.
DID YOU KNOW?
Working in partnership with Aztec Washer Company, an international company with offices in five countries (including one in Tecate), the Surge have organized two charity matches that have been played in Tecate. Over $20,000 has been raised through these charity matches.

Takes place in Vienna, Austria and is for a minimum of one year. We are looking for Men and Women who have completed their college eligibility, and have previous experience with Surge International. The
GPI Pro
is geared towards players who would like to play professional soccer, but all levels of qualified soccer players are welcome to apply.

Takes place in Vienna, Austria during the month of May. Spend 14 days training and playing soccer in Europe and impacting those around you through Surge Int'l ministry projects. Primarily for undergraduates, who want to explore longer term soccer ministry opportunities for when you complete your eligibility

SOS Soccer
Schools, churches, orphanages and other groups are sending out a distress signal for help. It is our goal at Surge International to meet the needs of those asking for help. Over the years,
SOS Soccer
has partnered with churches, teams and organizations to get soccer gear to children that do not have the basic equipment.
Our staff conduct motivational assemblies and establish after school programs using soccer to motivate students with their school work.
Whatever your needs are Surge International will work with you to help meet those critical needs.
Below are a few of the SOS calls we have received.
Salem, Oregon
When gangs began targeting third graders to be couriers from her elementary school the principal of the school knew it was time to send an SOS to Surge International. Likius Hafeni, a UEFA B Licensed Coach from Namibia, was brought to Salem to institute an afterschool soccer program at the school that also featured help with studying in the classroom. 210 children just completed a four week summer soccer project at a local church, under Likius guidance and twenty-five of those children made decision to follow Christ.
Phristina, Kosovo
Not longer in the news since they gained their independence Kosovo still remains a troubled spot. A weak central government, plagued by over 40% unemployed and hostilities still with Serbia, Relindje FC sent out an SOS to the Surges Vienna, Austria office. Traveling by bus, up to 18 hours each way our Vienna Surge staff makes an annual trip to visit Kosovo. This year alone we have delivered over 9.000 Euros worth of Nike soccer balls and cleats, compliments of one of the most famous professional teams in Austria (FK Austria Wien). Soccer clinics and tournaments are organized each year in April and each participant hears the good news.
Rancho San Juan Bosco Orphanage, Tecate, Mexico
Seventeen years ago a worker from an adoption agency asked if we could bring our team to visit the orphans in Tecate, Mexico. Last month we completed at least our 45th trip to the orphanage. For more on our Orphanage Outreach click on the title.
Central Asia
When an International Aid Director came back from his donkey ride high into the mountains of a Central Asian nation, he said this: After explaining to the fifty tribal leaders how we could create jobs for their unemployed men, he asked if they had any questions? They said "Only one, can you bring us soccer uniforms and soccer balls so we can start a soccer league, because you know what happens when our young men have nothing to do [they join terrorist organizations]".
