A pioneer of soccer ministry dating back to his time as coach at Azusa Pacific University, when he also played on the first Athletes-in-Action team. Dave was the first coach for the Sports Life Ministry team (WA) and the original full-time staff member, and founder of the Seahorse soccer team for Missionary Athletes International (CA); before going on to found Surge International (formerly Vanguard Ministries). Dave and Christian soccer team's he has led have traveled to over thirty countries of the world, bringing hope to those they meet. Dave heads up Surge Int'l from their USA headquarters in Salem, Oregon: overseeing the USA based work and the Global Player Initiative. Dave, Susan, Ryan and Hayley Irby reside in Salem, and son Nathan in San Diego, CA.

Jon grew up in Vienna, Austria where his parents were the first missionaries after World War II. Jon began his soccer ministry career as a midfielder on the Seahorses "historic" tour to Uganda as the civil war was ending. After four years of coaching the elite U13-14 players for the Vienna Soccer Federation (a project of the Austrian Soccer Federation -ÖFB), Jon led Austria Wien's U17's to a 13-3-4 record and a second place finish this past season. Jon developed the soccer ministry "Breakaway Soccer" and SOSoccer Kosovo; currently oversees Surge Int'l work from Vienna and now coaches the elite U13-19 players in the Austria Wien Soccer Academy. Fluent in English and German Jon resides outside of Vienna with his wife Janice (an Austrian citizen) and their two children Mia and Jordan.
