Surge Int :: International Outreach

VIENNA SURGE is the European office that oversees the international projects of Surge International. From our office at the Vienna YMCA (http://www.ymca.at/) projects in and around Vienna include: organizing youth soccer tournaments and camps; Bible Studies at local coffee shops; sharing Christ with university students; helping the homeless; working with refugees, visiting elementary schools; partnering with Calvary Chapel (http://www.calvarywien.at/) and CIG Churches (http://www.cigwien.at/); and working with one church plant near Vienna. Short term missions trips are ongoing to surrounding European countries and into Africa. GLOBAL PLAYER INITIATIVE (GPI)
The purpose of the GPI is for training, equipping and sending Christian soccer players to Vienna, Austria to use the platform of soccer to impact the world. There are two options players can choose from.

BREAKAWAY SOCCER
Breakaway soccer is a ministry we have in and around Vienna, Austria. We organize soccer tournaments in Vienna, primarily for youth, with an emphasis on areas of "high needs youth." http://www.breakawaysoccer.net/

SOSoccer
Refers to our relief work with children around the world. The goal is to partner with churches, teams and organizations to get soccer gear to children that do not have the basic equipment. Some projects are used to help victims of trauma caused by war and poverty. Surge Internatonal staff partner with local churches for these projects in their area.

RANCHO SAN JUAN BOSCO BOY'S ORPHANAGE :: TECATE, MEXICO
Surge Int'l. began visiting the boys orphange in Tecate in 1995. Over thirty trips have been made (and counting) to help not only the boy's orphanage but other orpahanages in Tecate as well. These trips and the Surge's involvement in Tecate has been a catalyst for USA based church groups to also assist the orphanages in Tecate.

DID YOU KNOW?
Working in partnership with Aztec Washer Company, an international company with offices in five countries (including one in Tecate), the Surge team played a charity match in Tecate that raised $5,000 for the orphange.

INTERNATIONAL TOURS
We believe in being a catalyst for local churches and US based high school and college soccer team to be involved in international missions. We have opportunities for churches and teams to travel with us to Mexico, Europe and Africa, with our main emphasis on bringing groups to our European Headquarters in Vienna, Austria and to Kosovo. Surge International also organizes "collegiate/pro select" teams for international ministry. SURGE SELECT TEAMS have traveled most recently to Austria, Germany, Indonesia, Thailand, Mozambique, South Africa and Sudan. Surge CEO Dave Irby has taken teams to Uganda (as the civil war was ending) and to Sudan (during the civil war).

CHURCH PARTNERSHIPS
One of our main goals is to be a partner with churches in world missions and in outreach to your own communities. We have specific programs in which we can partner with churches in the USA and in foreign countries, with an emphasis on Austria, and Kosovo.

Your church group can minister with us in Vienna to: youth, refugees, students, homeless (no soccer experience necessary).

DID YOU KNOW?
That you can invite our CEO, or other staff (when available) to speak to your high school group, men's group, congregation, and our team to conduct school assemblies in your neighborhood? We can help you develop a "Soccer weekend" to reach out to your neighborhood.
